A Better Way to Better Balance

Friday, April 30th, 2004

All illnesses or weight problems, even ADD, allergies, diabetes and
headaches start with an imbalance in the body. The imbalance can be
linked to hormones, vitamins or minerals, salt, water, chemicals or
many other substances found in too great or too little quantity.
Sometimes our bodies are attacked with an aggressive disease creating
an imbalance in our immune system. When we find and regulate the
imbalance we cure even the "non-curable" diseases and the most
stubborn illness.

A new group has started called Better Balance. It is a simple, free
program that teaches you how to heal in easy baby steps. This CAN be
done without dumping dollars into the allopathic world of medicine.
Much of what we teach is common sense that gets overlooked in our
fast-paced, too busy for health, lifestyles. You can be healthy and
it can be simple. If you are just joining please read the past posts,

Hi everyone. So this seems like the place for those with Seborrhea.
Well I’m just here for support as I’ve had it for over 5 years now.
Nothing cures it I know. Just have to live with it. Mine comes and
goes like all of yours I’m sure. I have tried the new elidel cream
but I don’t like it much. It has too many pore clogging inactive
ingredients in it that make me break out. If I get to the point that
I can’t stand the itch I just use the over the counter cort ointment.
Well I’m glad to have a place to visit. Thanks.

Thanks Ralph

I will follow up with the derm on Elidel and Protopic.

But when I move to India I won’t have insurance coverage from the
US. And if it is on a permanent basis (a distant possibility) I
can’t really see how I could get these rx’s there even in the long
run. The last time I was there all they had was benziol peroxide,
retin-A, topical antibiotics and hydrocortizones. Older forms of
meds.

The problem is that the international pharmaceutical companies can’t
make a profit on their newer drugs in India (at the costs they charge
here in the west) so they don’t even bother to distribute in India.
When a new drug is no longer protected by patent is when it becomes
available in India. Ranbaxy, an Indian company, is now making the
generic form of accutane for the US. Indian pharmaceutical companies

Dermatologist appt

Tuesday, April 27th, 2004

A month ago my skin was having a major flare of sebderm. I have
sebderm and rosacea. Anyway, I made an appt with a top notch
dermatologist for March 29th. In between my flaring and now my skin
has gone into remission. I have only a little sebderm with oiliness
and redness (rosacea). I mean almost 95% clear.

Should I cancel my appt with the dermatologist? I mean, he’s going
to see me and say "I don’t see the problem."

I hate this. I find myself actually wishing for my skin to go bad
just so I can be taken seriously.

Thank you for answering.

My sebderm is not serious enough to go onto long term low dose
therapy. Really, I have it under control now (with anti-fungal) and
all I really have is extreme oiliness with cocommitant rosacea.

They say rosacea can cause your oil glands to expand (hyperactive
sebacea?). It is the oiliness that contributes to the sebderm flares.

I thought a normal/standard accutane treatment would bring this
symptom under control and thus alleviate the sebderm completely.

We’ll see. I have an appointment with a top notch derm on 3/29.

Listin,,,,,see a derm to get a professional opinion. Maybe you could
get on some Elidel or Protopic along with the Klaron.

As for accutane….

In standard treatment of 5 months is not condsidered "long term."
Doctors say that it leaves your system after 30 days from
discontinuing it. But I would say to be on the safe side 90 days is
when it completely is out of your system (that’s just my conservative
approach).

As for accutane side effects,,,,no doubt it is a strong drug. That
is why doctor supervision is required and blood tests (liver, kidney
and cholesterol) are done every four weeks. Long term/low dose
therapy (years) will require the same tests but probably not every

Hi Guys ! i Know u are worried about hairloss and its the right thing
to do. If u loose ur hair then something is wrong. u can loose hair
due to anything. but if u don;t take the initiative to solve it then
may god help u with some miracle.

I visited the doc, did research on the web, , used Apple cidder
vinegar, topical lotions, tried Vitamins, various shampoos, cold
water-hot water , hot oil treatment, scrubing scalp, etc.. anything u
can think of but nothing worked….. I was so frustrated all the
time.. but never lost hope (Alhamdulilah) .
My hair has become very thin on the crown now and it is due to SD
(after 4 years of research i came to know this) .. This time i went
to the doc again. and like last time he prescibed 2 shampoos again to
be used for 3 weeks. I had tried this treatment before but no use

Is it possible to have seborrheic dermatitis and not have oily skin?
Mine is really dry. No Rash, scales or flakes.
