FDA Approval of Amevive
Finally!
Here is the link:
No doubt derms are going to think that this drug is overkill for seb derm so
now comes the hard part, trying to get it and have insurance cover the cost!
I have a lot of faith that this drug has the ability to put us into extended
periods of remission.

Hey RJ, How are you? have you or anyone in here tried the Amevive yet? any
results? Im curious to know if anyone has tried this new medication that
was just approved. And to answer your question James, I havnt been doing
the Green Tea wash in a long time now, my break outs have been very light.
Maybe cause im fasting for Easter, staying away from meats, eggs, cheeses,
dairy, and certain oils. Even though i did get a break out yesterday coming
out of the shower. Plus i was stressing a lot yesterday. But back to my
first note, HAS ANYONE TRIED THE AMEVIVE - BIOLOGICS YET?…

Tony–glad to hear you have been doing pretty good latley–same goes for me.
Still getting a lot of flaking but the inflammation has been quite minimal
and I have been eating all sorts of bad foods.
I have not gone to see my derm about Amevive yet–figure I need to wait
until i get a really bad flare to even approach the subject with
him–seriuosly doubt he will give it to me due to the drugs side effects.
Anyway, only thing I have been doing latley is taking 600mgs of Natrol brand
Acidipholus daily–I had stopped taking this a few months ago becuase I ran
out of them and was trying other things, but the probiotic and the warmer,
more humid weather seems to be a very good combo for me.
I am sure a major flare may be just around the corner, but for the past
month or so I have been pretty happy with things–pain in the ass scraping
all the flakes off my face every morning (takes about an hour) but at least
there isn’t any redness underneath them like there usually is.
Anyway, suggestion of the month: Acidipholus, 600mgs a day, Natrol
Brand–cost me $8 at Walgreens for 150 capsules, 100mgs each
Good luck,
RJ

Hi Tony,
Amevive does have some very serious side effects. It seems like
anything that suppresses the immune system, only makes it harder for
the body to fight bacteria.
