steroid topicals always work the fastest for me–do you have any–maybe just
a plain OTC hydrocortisone can help if you don’t have rx strentgh–but don’t
get the ones with aloe or lanolin or any other crap in it–just plain
hydrocortisone

Have you ever used ketoconazole cream? It doesn’t
work after a while, but it cleared me COMPLETELY right
away — and it lasted for about a month.

Hey man, how did this work out? I was wondering because I am going to
Arizona for spring break, and I was wondering if a sudden temperature
change like that (from a Michigan winter) would cause a flare up.
Anyone have any info on this? Thanks all.

Temperature and humidity changes can surely trigger a flare, but I think it
is worse if you are going from warm, humid climate TO a cold, dry climate
I moved to Florida from New England several years ago and my seb derm was
non-existant for the first three years I lived in Florida–the extra
sunshine I am sure helped as well.
So if you are going from Michigan to Arizona you hopefully will see an
improvement–getting some moderate sun may be a good idea as well.
Also, now that I think of it, when I was living in New England, my wife and
I would go to tanning salon once in a while during the winter and it also
seemed to improve my skin–not necessarily recommending this as since the
sun does squat for my seb derm now, but when I was in early stages of this
disease it really did help.
The humidty has also really increased down here in florida the last few days
and my skin is doing better–I know it makes some of you get worse, but this
past summer when the humidity was 100% for months at at time, my skin looked
great–but if I started to sweat too much, a flare would occur, so even
though i would go outside to get in the humid air, I was sure to get back
inside as soon as I could feel the sweat coming on

Thanks for the tip. I was worried about it flaring up getting there, but now I guess I have to worry about it flaring up coming home! I guess its better this way, because I can actually relax and not worry about it down there. Lets just hope so…
