Five Dollar Cure…

Sunday, February 29th, 2004

Hello All-

I decided to be a sucker and send that guy the five bucks for his miracle
rosacea cure. I got an email from him today, so I am spreading the wealth!
Who knows what really works, but heres what he said:
Take care!

Dear Friend,

I am not a doctor, I found this purely out of desperation. I went to a
doctor and was told that I had Rosacea and that there was no cure for this
condition. He gave me Metrocream 0.75%, which was totally useless. All I
had, at the time, was reddening around both sides of the nose for about 6
months. After using this off the shelf product, it was gone in a month.

hmm…never thought to look for a relevant list that could help. glad i did!

hi all,

just thought i’d drop you a line to introduce myself. my name is james, i’m 26
living in the uk. i have just (about 2 months ago) been for my first
consultation with a dermatologist regarding sebderm. seems to have come on last
year for the first time, and now its fairly well established that its not going
anywhere for a while!

i have spent a little time going through the archives of this list, have found
some new things to try, thanks. i must say that i have read a number of
accounts of other peoples condition and luckily it seems that mine is a mild
case (at least at the moment). the main problem i have with this is redness of
the face, rather than serious scaling anywhere. it is very noticeable but on

Help Required

Friday, February 27th, 2004

Hi

I wonder if someone can help me with the following 2 points:

1. I am 30 and suffer with seb derm and rosacea and am using Protopic to
keep it under control, Minocin for my rosacea, however EVERY morning after
I`ve washed my face it goes bright red and burns for about half an hour,
slowly dissapating.Anyone experience the same and if so what do they do to
alleviate this?
I did have 8 photofacial treatments last year, but this is getting worse.

2. My scalp in all areas suffers with the seb derm and I have been
alternating Selsun Blue with Nizoral, but I can wash my hair one night and
the very next morning my head is full of seb derm flakes. As my hair is
receeding now I have it cut short and therefore the seb derm is

Seborrheic Eczema

Thursday, February 26th, 2004

Please advise any advice or products to treat this condition other
than steriod creams.

I get it on my scalp and between my nose.

Many thanks.

Times when I experienced remmission of the symptoms.

Wednesday, February 25th, 2004

I have had seb. derm for about 13 years on my scalp and eyebrows.

During the past few years, I have decided to try to actively get rid
of it.

I am of aware of recent two times when my seb. derm. cleared up
completely:

1.
I bought a shower filter that has a water softener on it. Around the
same time, I started using Nizoral for only two weeks. The seb.
derm. cleared up for over a month. Then, one day I went swimming in
a public pool that had alot of chlorine in it. About 20 minutes after
leaving the pool, I noticed that the symptoms of seb. derm. had
returned. The symptons then remained until about 4 months later.

hi there

Tuesday, February 24th, 2004

Hi, just thought I would drop a note on how I my seb derm (and rosacea) is
doing. First off I got rid of the derm. I can’t tell you how much stuff I
was putting on my face and taking that was making me worse (and putting
chemicals and toxins in my body). I have also reduced washing my face
dramatically. When I wash I use a tea tree soap, and apbly a 9% tea tree in
jojoba oil when I am done. I use the oil 2x a day and for any spots that
are problems. I try to avoid washing more than once a day. Make up has
been gone for a long time now. I take my Omegas and ACE and B complex. I
have also more recently switched to an organic diet. I don’t know that it
has made a change in my skin, but my body feels better. All that said both
the seb derm and rosacea are under good control. Hope it’s helpful.

Wednesday, February 18th, 2004

I’ve been on Accutane (20 mg) for one and a half week now together
with DRL which I apply every night, and it looks really promising! My
former oily face is almost "normal", what a relif! And the redness,
which is my biggest problem, has also been imrproved.

looking for some cleanser suggestions, any and all

Monday, February 16th, 2004

Hi
Hope that everyone had a relaxing holiday season. Time to start
gearing up for the new year. Just spent the last hour or more
goingthrough all the former posts. Please help me to compile a list
of possible cleansers I could try. I have rosacea pinkness and
sensiitve skin and my sebderm is more of the dry variety flakes. I
gte some crusty bits in my ear folds, the forehead , nose and the
brows and the eye lids get very flaky and itchy.
I need to find a good cleanser in the new year. I finally got my
Protopic so I am hoping that it works well. I have not tried it on my
lids but I will.
Thanks for all your support and help in the past year. Looking
forward to a better 2003.
Looking forward to your suggestions.
