David,
Not sure if I responded back to your previous message, but I used the Gold
Bond (green bottle, red cap--the one promoted on the Rosacea Support
Group)for some dryness around my nose and upper lip--not really full blown
seb derm areas for me, just kind dry and mildly red.

It worked OK in a sense that it did provide some mostuire for about half the
day and it did not really cause any irritation. However, I would not use
this on really infllamed seb derm areas (for me, my eyebrows and forehead).
There really isn't anything that is anti-inflmattory in this lotion (except
maybe the dimethicone, but even that substance is more of a mostuirizer than
a real anti-inflammatory).

I used for about 6 months or so but only when my skin was getting really dry
and then I switched to Aveeno Face mosturizer which is OK as well but just
<!--more-->
for dry skin, not for really inflammed seb derm--however, what I am using
now is 100% jojoba oil and this seems to work the best for dry skin but I
have to do massive exfoliation first (usually with a really soft
toothbrush)--once I get all the dead skin off and unabsorbed other lotions,
which usually takes an hour so, I then put some water on my face and then
lightly rub in some jojoba oil. Suprisingly, my skin does not react to the
jojoba oil and it is really keeping the dry skin hydrated and now I only
need to do the massive exfolitation about once a week (instead of daily)

However, I still would not trying putting the jojoba oil (or any other oil)
or any plain mostuirzers on my eyebrow area--just Desowen there for the most
part.

Anyway, back to the Gold Bond, it may be worth a try for dry skin--it is
really cheap at about $5 for a bottle that would probably last you for a
year or so so there isn't much risk in purchasing and then tossing it if you
don't like it, but don't expect any real miracles for seb derm from this
stuff.

Hey Tim,
about those shampoos, find something that works, then find another brand
that works and alternate every 2-3 weeks. I am using Keune P13 (henna) and
Keune P13 Tar. I use the Tar 2 days a week and then the henna 5 days a
week. After 2 weeks of alternating with those shampoos, i then use keune
anti-dandruff shampoo. It elimanates the scales enought where i can wear
black in public. Good luck Tim. The fight must go on
