First post

Sunday, December 21st, 2003

Hi,

This is my first post on this board (which I’m very glad to have
found), so…hello! :-)
I’ve had seb derm since 1994, had some success using hydrocortisone,
Daktacort and Nizoral creams. Also used shampoos as short contact
(i.e 30 seconds or so) creams, which have been quite effective in the
past.

I also have acne and psoriasis, so as you can imagine I consider that
I’ve been dealt a pretty bad hand in the skin dept.

My seb derm is becoming more troublesome recently after being firmly
under control for some years.

Seb derm diet

Thursday, December 18th, 2003

I’ll try to go on this diet, but being half Italian, leaving out
pasta will be VERY hard! :) But if you can’t even eat potatoes, what
the hell should you eat with the meat, chicken and fish?? I’d love to
see "safe seb derm recipies" posted! I really don’t have any
imagination when it comes to food..

If there ever was a cure for Seb derm, both of you deserve to be ahead of
the line.. I have taken both your advice on the diet and cut my sugars
dramatically, now i to am looking behind each label. I have not had a flare
since my Vitamin B, B for bullet incident. Diet does work, i still use my
msm and lotion, but the diet did help. my hats off to you gentlemen.

thank you

Green Tea & Easier Remedy

Tuesday, December 16th, 2003

Hello, as soom of you know I have been using green tea for about a
year now and with good results. It’s alot of trouble as you must do
it everyday at least twice a day or more to keep down flares. Four
months ago my advisor at my health food store begged me to try Face
Doctor Soap, he said if nothing else it would control the oil on my
face. I was very skeptical as I have tried a million remedy’s but oh
well I thought I might as well try it as he promised a full refund if
it didn’t work. It has worked like a charm for me. No more flakes or
redness and no more oil! I only have to use it once every other day
and no other treatment at all. Much easier than the green tea. I
just lather it with my fingertips leave on for a full 2 minutes and
rinse off. After only 4 application my face cleared up completely and
has been perfectly clear ever since. This may not work the same for
everyone - nothing ever does, but for me it has been truly a miracle.
I have even found I can eat tomatoes and fruit again. I also have

Hi,

For those of you who have tried application of green tea to the face,
what were your results? Also, how did you apply the green tea?

New seb/rosacea member AND questions

Monday, December 15th, 2003

Hello to all!

This and rosacea forums are a godsend. Althought it does not make me
feel any better that someone else suffers like me, at least it gives
me a feeling of "normalcy". Thank you to whoever started this forum
and to all contributing members!

About myself: seb. derm (scalp and face) with rosacea, dry skin with
somewhat oily T-zone. My doctor prescribed Zinc shampoo for the scalp
that seems to control my itching (at least I no longer have to
explain to people that I do not have lice!!) and a concoction of
metrocream and laprox for the face (metrocream for rosacea, but,
since it was aggravating my skin even further, he mixed it up with
laprox lotion for derma). Needless to say, after about a year and a
half I see little results.

A simple, easy seb derm aid

Sunday, December 14th, 2003

Hi guys,

Just wanted to let you all know that I have recently found something
that is helping my sebderm drastically. Whenever I am in a tropical
climate, my sebderm always improves dramatically, but it isnt because
of the sun because I always stay out of the sun. Therefore, I have
come to the conclusion that it is the humidity that helps so much.
So, a few weeks ago I purchased a relatively large, high output
humidifier for my apartment (8 gallon capacity, 8 gallon/ day
output). The humidifier is supposed to humidify areas up to 2000 sq/
feet and I only have a 900 sq. foot apartment. Anyway, for the past
week my skin has been improving every day. I dont know why humidity
helps so much ( I dont see how it could possibly reduce fungus
growth), but it does.

GLA & Pantothenic Acid

Saturday, December 13th, 2003

Ralph, or anyone else who knows, I’m taking GLA with Pantothenic
Acid, could this be a problem? I really do belive the Pantothenic
Acid has shrunk my pores and I’m not as oily as I was just a feew
weeks ago. GLA hasn’t really done much, yet, but I’m sticking with it
for at least a month.
