Borage Oil Update–Good So Far

Thursday, October 30th, 2003

For anyone that using Flax oil or Evening Primrose Oil, you want to consider
trying Broage Oil–I tried the other two and saw no results but after four
weeks or so of taking 2000 mgs og Borage oil daily, I have to admit that I
feel like it is really working.

If you read the article below, it will make some sense as to why borage oil
may be more effective than flax or EPO–it makes a lot of sense to me and I
am not really a beleiver in supplements–I have tried dozens of them and
never saw any benefits until I tried the borage oil.

I have also been keeping my face free from water and sweat–I am only
washing my face about once a week with just plain water.

I have only had one real flare os side of nose while starting the borage oil
and it was early on-used the DRL on it and it was gone in two days–other

The never ending saga……

Wednesday, October 29th, 2003

Well, it’s been a few days since I posted last.

It’s been about 3 1/2 weeks since I stopped taking Diane 35 (birth
control pill for acne and seborrhea). I started getting very oiling
about a week ago and breaking out very bad. But what is strange is
the sebderm-like skin lesions are clearing up (only have a little
around one ear) In addition to stopping the birth control pill, I
stopped using retin-A 0.1%. All because I wanted my doctor and derm
to see me unmedicated.

I was intending on asking the new derm to put me on accutane. I
know, somewhat ambitious intention on my behalf for a first-time
consultation. But just prior to my dermatology appt, I had my annual
physical. And I told my internist that I have had a minor ache in my
upper right quadrent, off and on, for the last 6 months. It started

How it started…very insidiously

Friday, October 24th, 2003

About two years ago I began to get this peeling on my ear lobes.
There was redness and irritation. Then the fold between my earlobes
and face became cracked and sore. It then progressed to my face
(along the hairline, jaw line, under my nostrils and sometimes my
eyebrows and nose bridge). I would get these patches of dry skin
that would flak off and leave raw areas underneath. When I first
consulted my primary care physician during the "earlobe" stage two
years ago, she said I had seborrheic dermatitis. Now she thinks it
is exzema and can’t even remember first saying it was seborrheic
dermatitis.

Anyway…my skin is going downhill this week. I have been off the
Diane 35 (anti acne/anti seborrhea) birth control pill for 2 1/2
weeks. My skin is getting very oily and breaking out in small
pimples everywhere and the sebderm is flaring (in the same old

How it started

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2003

Hey guys,
because im pretty new in this group and i have been diagnosed with sebderm
for the past two years, i wanted to know from everyone how it started. For
me, i went to australia for my brothers wedding, i had this really small
itchy spot in the middle of my chest about the size of a dime that just kept
bothering me. Basically i would scratch it all day. Then while taking
showers over there, when coming out not only would my chest be inflammed but
also my face. By my side burns, cheeks, forehead. Would be all red and
itchy, it took about a couple of hours before it left, but at that time i
thought it was nothing, maybe an allergic reaction.
About 3 weeks later when i returned to florida, that small spot on my chest
increased to about the size of my palm, and my face now would get red but
take longer to get away. Finally after going to see a dermatologist, they
told me Sebderm. Now its controlable. Im just interested in finding out
how you all guys knew it was sebderm and what happened. I was diagnosed at

Lotion

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2003

Hi,
I want to do a little experiment.
My derm offered me a lotion (Tyrolerlotion) back in 1998, and I
have been using it mostly all the time since. The derm said he
always opts for this lotion in stead or corticosteroids in
conditions like atopic azcema and seb derm etc.
I have sent it to three-four people with seb derm over the years,
and they all said it was very useful.
I would be interested in seeing if it works on anyone in this
group. If anyone would be willing to try it, i can send it to you. It
costs around 130 norwegian kroner (around 15 dollars) and
shipping will be added. The problem is that it is only available
locally in Norway, and is not sold over the net, i did a search, and
there are no referance to it on the net.

Well, I just found out my hypothyroidism may be t

of my skin ’sebderm-like’ troubles.

Let me first explain that I have been diagnosed with hypothyroidism
some years earlier.

Last year before before I left for a big trip overseas, I was on 75
mcg Synthroid. While overseas, I could not find the same dosage
strength. Only 100 mcg. But the overseas pharmacists and doctor
said this was a minor difference and would not adversely affect me.

I started getting sebderm and acne problems in October.

Now back in the US, I just was tested again and my test results show
I am getting too much thyroid replacement. I have to lower the dose
back to 75 mcg.

MSM

Not only is MSM a great inflammatory, it also goes to where cell detoxifying
is needed. It balances the body’s bacteria (candida) and the MSM cream
works great of flaking, body absorbs it very well relieves the itch to

for your reply,
but why all of a sudden my immune system went to a low thus me coming up
with sebderm. I am 26 yrs old and started getting it when i was 24. I
currenlty use sulphur soap imported from bolivia, its a pure sulphur soap
and that works great on my scalp, i dont mind the smell. Only if you are
very close u can smell it, i rather have that than the flakes
