DRL Experience

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2003

Boy this DRL is incredible. Last night I used it for
the first time. This morning when I woke up I looked
in the mirror and not only was my seb derm gone, but I
saw Tom Cruise looking back at me!

But seriously, it’s only been about 8 hours. So far
so good. My skin is less dry and I have no
irritation. Also, someone in the rosacea group
complained about the smell. It smells okay to me (a
very mild smell), and it seems to go away after you
have it on for a little while.

Cutanix DRL Thus Far

Monday, July 21st, 2003

I received my DRL from Cutanix on Monday. So far, I am quite impressed with
it for most of my skin problems. I have had a major breakout in one of my
eyebrows (really red, raw, and oozing, and starting to form a large scab) so
I tried a little bit on that patch which I should not have becasue nothing
ever works to heal my skin when it is that point, including desowen, elidel,
proptopic–the DRL did not really make it any worse but I should have waited
until it was not raw to aplly it.

In a day or two, I will be able try the DRL there again. However, on the
rest of my face, this stuff is working with no irritation. I have used it
on a few minor rosacea areas on my cheeks and chin (a few small papules,
large pores, bright red, rough texture kind of stuff) area that has been
inflamed for at least a month that nothing has been able to help–I have
applied the DRL there five times now and the texture is like night and day,
very very smooth feeling–the redness does seem to have gotten a bit

Sunscreens

I use Purpose moisturizer from Johnson and Johnson every morning. It
has 15 SPF, which may not be enough for some people. It’s easy to
apply and absorbs well.

So who got their DRL sample? I received mine in the
mail today and am going to begin using it tonight.
Has anyone else started using it yet?

sunscreens for sebderm?

Saturday, July 19th, 2003

Hiya,

Can anyone recommend a good sunscreen for sebderm sensitive skin?
Ones I have used in the past generally have been too oily/greasy and
that (not too mention added fragrances) seem to make the problem
worse. I have heard that zinc oxide is a good type to use, and lately
I have been using Neutrogena’s Sensitive Skin zinc oxide sunscreen,
but it too is very greasy and leaves a white residue. Something that
goes on light and absorbs quickly would be ideal. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Todd

Cutanix Samples

Saturday, July 19th, 2003

Hi guys, I posted this on the rosacea support forum and would like
your input as well:

I did want to give you guys a heads-up on some of the feedback that I
have received so far. We have heard from a few of you regarding the
use of the DRL lotion. In most cases, individuals have said that the
lotion does not have an irritating effect. We have received, however,
one reply stating that their condition seemed to be exacerbated
following application of the lotion after approximately two days. We
have seen in about 10% of patients a slight exacerbation of symptoms
as discussed and that was shown in the now infamous clinical document
that was posted on the rosacea support forum. If irritation is found
after a couple of days of application we suggest suspending use if
there is no relief of symptoms. If this indeed happens, I would
appreciate receiving the questionnaire as any feedback we can get is

Airplanes–Sweating

Sunday, July 13th, 2003

Two things i have noticed:

Whenever I take a plane trip, I end of suffering from a severe
outbreak of sd for a week or two.

And, I’ve been wondering for awhile: I don’t sweat very much, or at
all, but I do produce quite a lot of oil on my face. Just wondering
if this is a commonality for many of us suffering with sd.
