I have used the 2% ketocanazole with no side effects–many people are very
satisfied using this topical–for some it may be better than the shampoos
becasue the shampoos can causing excessive drying–I never experienced a
drying effect with the ketocanazole–the stuff is pretty greasy so I think
it mostuirized more than dried me out–just my experience

The only thing that I ever noticed a long term side effect with is any
steroid–desowen, elocon, hydrocortisone–this stuff can destroy the outer
layers of your skin with long term use–at least it did for me

I have been using 2% ketoconazole on my face for about
4 wks now, and it has been remarkable. It has had a
very dramatic effect on my skin, and it has no side
effects that I have noticed. I also use medicated
Selsun Blue (menthol version) in the shower every 4
days or so. Give it a shot!

i used a hydrocortisone for about 2 months regularly then very rarely
like maybe once a week for a couple of weeks, i stopped using it just
because of a fear of permanent damage, although i don’t think the one
i used was very potent because it never really helped much, you
mention eidol or something like that, a new cream that people are
using ? just how good do people find it? Also in practical terms what
is it? an anti fungal ?

  4. Janell Beach Says:

From what i’ve heard it has no dramatic side effects, if it has any
they are deffinitely not permanent so i guess i might as well give it
ago, thanks for your message SandRa :), i have a doctors appointment
on Thursday, i’ll ask if he will prescribe it. Also i was wondering
if anyone had used this ketoconazole cream for a very long period of
time with good effects like years maybe. Some things seem to loose
effectiveness so i hear, just in theory because it’s an anti fungal
it will gain no immunity to it

I would be interested in hearing from others on that
subject as well — has anyone on the list used
ketoconazole for any extended period? How long should
I keep using it? I’ve been using it 2x/day for 4 wks
and I am wondering if I should keep going or lay off
    for a while or what.
