Seborrheic Dermatitis

Hi,

I’m new here, i’ve had seborreic dermatitis i think for about 3
yeaRS, i am only 18 now. It was only diagnosed last november. I have
a what looks like an inflamed rash either side of my face and quite a
lot of dandruff. Sometimes my face stings. I have no other symptoms
and have perfect skin everywhere else on my body. it is the rash on
my face that i am most bothered about… by far, as it is the most
visible. i was prescribed a steroidal cream which alleviated the
problem on my face a little, however it didn’t go away and i stopped
usimng it after a few months due to fear of side effects, i was also
prescribed nizoral shampoo which has helped a lot. I went back to the
doctors recently as my face wasn’t relly getting better, he then
prescribed a normal moisturiser, this just irritated the problem and
made it worse so i stopped using that after a few days.

I’ve just found this forum which has cheered me up a little, i’ve
been feeling very frustrated recently. i guess that some of you
people know a lot about the condition and have perhaps tried/heard of
many ways of attempting to cure it both successfully and non
successfully. i was hoping that maybe someone could summarise the
treatments and things that work for them that maybe i could try to at
least reduce my symptoms. i would be very very greatful,

P.s, i uploaded a picture of me under photos. my seborrea normally
goes through stages but never disappears, its the least visible it
can be, in that picture, 95% of the time it is considerably worse
