High carb foods

Sunday, April 13th, 2003

To those of you who don’t suffer from rosacea but just seb derm,
how’s your "realtionship" with high carb foods, such as pasta, bread
etc? And dairy? Does it cause a flare-up or can you name other
triggers?

selsun blue is helping

Thursday, April 10th, 2003

I have been using Selsun Blue for about a week now,
and I just wanted to give everyone an update. It is
helping a lot! It has dramatically reduced my flakes
and redness/irritation! Hopefully the effect will
last. Those who haven’t tried it, I’d say it is worth
a try - maybe it will help you too!

Accutane

Thursday, April 10th, 2003

Hi,
Believe me, I hate this problem as much as anyone and I’m willing to
try just about anything, but I would be very careful about using
Accutane. I don’t know much about it, but I’ve heard that it is very
powerful and can sometimes have negative and unintended effects. I
would research it thoroughly, then get the opinions of several
dermatologists before going ahead. I would just hate to see it make
your problem worse.
Good luck whatever you decide,
Tim

selsun blue

Tuesday, April 8th, 2003

I have been using Selsun Blue on my face 1x per day
for the last few days, and it seems to be helping. I
am wondering if there are folks out there who have
used this remedy before who can give me a few
suggestions on how to get the best results. How often
do you use it, and for how long? When are the maximum
results achieved? I am having a bit of a breakout -
did anyone else experience this as a result of Selsun
Blue, or is this likely unrelated? Any info is much
appreciated :)

Thanks

to everyone for your Protopic suggestions and warnings, and
for your words of support and encouragement. I think in our struggle
against seb derm and rosacea, this group really is our strongest
weapon. By sharing information and encouragement we can help
eachother tremendously.

hi, I’m new. Can you read my story

Thursday, April 3rd, 2003

I will try to keep this as brief as possible. I have seen so many
derms and received no definitive answers. So much for derms,eh? It is
possible that I have rosacea, but I don’t have redness or blushing or
pimples but I do have flaky skin. It seems to me that the more I
moisturize, the flakier it gets. is it possible that if a mild case
of seb is untreated, then it can spread to the entire face. My nose,
especially the nose is growing its own flakes. Ihave peeled so much
off my nose that it just can’t be dried up dead skin cells. I have
been peeling ofr week.Last might I gave my nose and chin a good
slathering of a heavy duty cream, and I swear that this morning , my
nose and chin are worse than ever. Try putting foundation on that
mess. I will be seeing another derm, soon I hope but, I am not
hopeful that he/she will be much help. Can anyonehelp me decide
whatis going on with my face and how I can help it be back to as near
normal as possible. I know that I have not given you much to go on ,
