High carb foods

To those of you who don’t suffer from rosacea but just seb derm,
how’s your "realtionship" with high carb foods, such as pasta, bread
etc? And dairy? Does it cause a flare-up or can you name other
triggers?

I think that the whole food "trigger" thing is mostly
in people’s imaginations. The brain, though,
obviously, has a great deal of power over the body.
If you think carbs are going to worsen your condition,
then they will. I’ve never noticed any connection.
Alcohol doesn’t worsen my condition either - and I
LOVE beer and drink it regularly.

<< Scientifically it makes sense. Seb Derm is caused by, or in some way
related to, an overgrowth of a yeast called Pitysprorum Ovale, right? So any
food that triggers yeast production (fermented foods, or high-carb foods)
could contribute to Seb Derm. >>

I have always felt that my seb derm was strongly affected by carbs,
particularly from foods with concentrated sugars like candy and dried fruit.
My doctor felt, though, that it was for a slightly different reason: because
the yeasts that cause the condition feed on the sugar produced by the
breakdown of carbs. But who knows?

Yes, the high carbs do make condition worse but I think the dairy is even
worse than the carbs–I have stopped all intake of these foods and eat only
proteins and vegetables, no fruit because of high sugar content which seb
    derm loves as well

Staying away from these foods is no cure but they do seem to be an auotmatic
    trigger for me

Thanks for all the replies so far. It’s clear that it’s very
individual what makes seb derm worse. I know I can’t eat food that is
too spicy and almost every time I get a cold or I’m just a bit down
for some reason I get a flare-up. I think I can handle dairy in small
ammounts, same thing with pasta and bread.
