Thanks
to everyone for your Protopic suggestions and warnings, and
for your words of support and encouragement. I think in our struggle
against seb derm and rosacea, this group really is our strongest
weapon. By sharing information and encouragement we can help
eachother tremendously.

Dear Ralph
Thanks for your swift response, I will delve into the archives and see what
you guys have done to make life easier. I will also read up on pityrosporum
folliculitis as my doctor says it definitely isn’t rosacea. It was
prednisolone that he gave me, to no avail, and now he wants me to try
oxytetracycline for 6 - 8 weeks?! I am also currently de-toxifying with
herbs in an attempt to control matters. Thanks for your support, and i’m
sure all of you will help to keep me sane in the days ahead.

Dan and Torrential:
Thanks for answering my posts. I appreciate it very much. I need to
get some fragrant free shampoo at our local health food store (I
assume they’ll have it.) I am also wondering if anyone has had luck
with Protopic? I’ve been reading some of the old posts, and I see
many were going to try it, and some had already tried it with great
results.

Hi Jane:
Yes, I’ve used ProTopic and had great results when my scalp had a
lot of red patches. The red patches made me upset, which effected my
nervous system and my oil glands would go into over load. When that
happened, I would brake out with ugly SD patches and Protopic cleard
it up. However, whenever I used Protopic, I had to avoid the sun or
I felt like my face was on fire. So I wore a wide brimmed hat. Also,
you can NOT put Protopic on a wet or damp face or scalp.
As for shampoo… you can order them online.
DHS CLEAR fragrance free shampoo (for shaving and everyday clening
of hair and scalp) and DHS SAL Shampoo (which contains salicylic
acid that’s needed for SD, psoriasis, and dandruff) can be ordered
by going to:
www.personandcovey.com
Another SD and Psoriasis product is called: P&S Shampoo, and that
can be ordered at www.dermadoctor.com
