Seb Derm + food?

Hey, I am brand new to this group, so I apologize if this has been
answered in the archives..

I have a rash around my mouth. It basically has two components… One
is these kind of reddish/purplish blotches on my upper lip… They are
sometimes dry, sometimes sore.. never itch. They are basically
underneath the skin.. They look almost like Exzema.. They seem to get
darker when exposed to certain foods (not sure what those foods are
yet) but overall the flares come and go, and always stay w/in a
certain range of severity..

The second component is these bumps that appear around the mouth that
look similar to acne. The main difference between them and acne is
that 18-20 of them often appear w/in 15-20 minutes, and they never get
worse if I haven’t eaten anything that day.. They appear to be almost

100% food-related.. I saw an allergist who was absolutely no help.. he
wouldnt even test me for food allergies, insisting that a food allergy
would cause larger bumps (these are the size of medium-small pimples..
occasionally with white in the middle, but not too often..)

It seems that oily foods are the worst offenders… but I’m not really
sure.. My derm is pretty clueless.. He never seems to know what I
have… but the phrase that comes up most often is "Seborrheic
dermatitis". Does this sound like Seborrheic dermatitis? Or does seb
derm not have those zit-like bumps? Is Seb Derm worsened by eating
foods? Or Is this something else entirely? Any insite would be
appreciated.

Adam
