newly diagnosed, need advice…
in november last year, i had a terrible bout with blood pressure…
they thought i was gonna stroke… i was freakin’… near in a panic
attack stage…
anyway, its all controlled now and ok, however, i’ve been bothered
with redness on my face, like a sunburn… one doc said it was
rosacia, and prescribed meds… only made it worse… another says
seborrheic dermatitis… prescribed nazoral and loprox gel…
it comes and goes…
i would like to blame this on the blood pressure medication… as
that’s when it all started… i’m taking toprol xl, atacand, and a
diamethi-something or other diuretic… (forgot the name)…
any advice you can give me will be appreciated… i don’t mind it
much, just looks like a bad wind or sunburn… hope it doesn’t get
anyworse…
i’ve been washing my head everyday with nizoral, using it on my face
and beard… letting it soak for several minutes… my face burns
afterwards and seems to be worse… but i’ve only been doing this for
a week… maybe that’ll ease up… when i put the loprox on, it burns
for a bit…
i don’t itch much… mainly just red…
thanks…

Please try Protopic for the seb derm. Much better than nizoral. I also just
stared using something called ZNP bar for seb derm.. You can wash your hair
and face with it. I got my pharmacy to order - $9

my present treatment is doing well… no "dandruff" flakes today and
my face is nearly its natural color… some of my students noticed it
today and mentioned it…
i don’t think i’ll tinker with it yet…
thanks…
