Is this Seb Derm?

Hello:

I found out about this group from a post on the Rosacea group. I
was looking for a treatment (cure?) for a problem I’ve had for a
few years that seems to be getting worse. I’ve read info about
Rosacea, Seb Derm, and other skin problems, but I don’t seem
to fit any of those descriptions exactly. The closest would be Seb
Derm (I think), but I’d like to have some opinions as to what this
may be. Here it is:

For the last 4 years, I’ve had pink/reddish areas on my face on
both sides of my nose, about 1-inch wide and from about 1/2
inch below the eye all the way down to my chin. My cheeks are
not affected. The skin on the pink area is different from the rest
not only in color, but also the texture is thicker/coarser and very

dry. This area of pink and coarse skin is always the same, no
matter what I do, and it seems to be getting coarser and the pink
area expanding.

Also, if I neglect to wash my face twice a day with soap and
warm water using a washcloth, I get greasy scales on my nose,
especially the top. After washing, there are red spots/blotches
left where the greasy scales used to be. Sometimes after
washing the area, some (almost clear) fluid comes out of two or
three pores and then I get a tiny pinhead-sized scab. I must say
that my nose is oily and have black heads, which I have been
unable to get rid of.

As I said, I can control the greasy scales from forming on my
nose by using a washcloth and soap and warm water, but I
realize this is just a temporary control and I think it’s getting
worse, because up until about a year ago I only needed to wash
the area once a day. Now I need to do it twice a day.

What is going on with my face? Is this Seb Derm?
Any info will be much appreciated. TIA.
